Li Jiachao, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, attended the launch ceremony as the guest of honor and delivered a speech, emphasizing that the Hong Kong government hopes to vigorously promote the integration of government, industry, academia, and research forces in the low-altitude economy through pilot projects. This initiative aims to promote the safe and healthy development of the low-altitude economy industry in Hong Kong, help Hong Kong lead the new quality productivity in the future, enable citizens to "see and touch" the actual benefits of the low-altitude economy, create a new era of the "Smart Sky", and inject new impetus into the Hong Kong economy.

This batch of pilot projects was strictly selected by the Working Group on the Development of the Low-altitude Economy from 72 high-quality application plans, covering multiple fields and diverse scenarios such as emergency rescue, logistics, and delivery, maintenance and safety inspection, monitoring, and low-altitude infrastructure facilities. The two projects approved for SUTPC involve exploring large low-altitude infrastructure devices (Micro-Airport) and key technologies for low-altitude cross-border traffic management between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. SUTPC is the leading unit for one project and a major participating unit for the other.

Relying on its industry-leading core technologies for urban low-altitude management and services, one-stop support capabilities for the scene-based implementation and large-scale development of the urban low-altitude industry, and the advantages of the top technology ecosystem in the low-altitude sector, SUTPC, with its integration, upgrading, and operation capabilities of the urban transportation system integrating ground and air, will cooperate with local top research institutions and enterprises in Hong Kong, such as PCCW and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, to deeply participate in and precisely contribute to the development of the low-altitude economy in Hong Kong.
