LEAP 2025, the Middle East’s premier international advanced technology exhibition themed "Step into a New World", grandly opened on February 9 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. Dubbed the "Digital Davos", LEAP is one of the most influential tech events globally, convening leading global technology companies to explore cutting-edge trends and innovative applications. Shenzhen Urban Transport Planning Center Co., Ltd. (SUTPC), representing the Shenzhen Smart City Technology Development Group Co., Ltd.(SZSC), showcased its globally leading integrated smart city solutions, presenting "Chinese solutions" for smart cities and transportation to international audiences.
At the exhibition, SUTPC highlighted its newly developed AI-powered intelligent transportation system leveraging digital twin technology, covering key areas such as urban digital twins, intelligent transportation systems (ITS), smart energy management, and low-altitude governance services. The Mecca Smart Hajj System—a flagship project developed by SUTPC—stole the spotlight. Using AI algorithms for real-time monitoring, the system dynamically optimizes traffic routing, emergency response dispatching, and service resource allocation, addressing safety and efficiency challenges during the Hajj pilgrimage.
Through digital and intelligent solutions, SUTPC significantly enhances urban governance efficiency and service quality, offering a "Chinese model" replicable for global smart city development. Its innovations drew attention from Saudi ministries (Interior, Energy, Transport), the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and global telecom operators. Stakeholders praised SUTPC’s technological expertise and global implementation track record, expressing hopes for localized adoption in the Middle East to advance local smart city goals.
Headquartered in Shenzhen and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, SUTPC serves national strategies while expanding internationally. It established an International Business Department and the SUTPC Digital Technology (HK) Limited to deepen engagement in markets like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Macau. Adopting a "technology export + localized adaptation" strategy, SUTPC collaborates with global partners to drive smart city innovation, painting a transformative vision for urban development across regions.
